Today's families want more than a simple snapshot of their child's day — they want to react, ask questions, and feel like they're part of what's happening at the daycare. That's exactly why the Parent Link module in MyDaycare Plus exists: to create a real, daily connection between your team and the families you serve.
And that connection just got stronger. Comments are now available in the Parent Link — a simple, natural way for parents and educators to exchange messages directly under each post.
Imagine an educator posts the daily report. A mom notices her son slept very little and wants to know how the rest of his afternoon went. Before, she had to open the messaging module, find the right conversation, and send a message hoping to connect the dots. Now, she leaves a comment directly under the report — and the educator responds in the same place. Simple, fast, and in context.
That's what comments in Parent Link are: the right conversation, in the right place, at the right time.
Every daycare operates differently, and we know that. That's why comments are optional — you choose to enable them if it fits the way you want to communicate with your families.
Enabling it takes just a few seconds: App Settings → Modules → Parent Link. Once activated, parents and educators can comment on any post — daily reports, photos, and more. If you'd rather wait, nothing changes in your current interface. You can always enable the feature later.
Once enabled, comments appear under each post in the Parent Link feed, on both desktop and the mobile app. Educators can reply to parents directly, without leaving the post, without switching tools.
Privacy stays in your control: if the Hide educator name setting is active, comments appear under the daycare's name rather than the educator's — exactly as with regular posts.
Parents access comments in the same place they view posts — in the mobile app or from their browser. They can ask a question, thank the educator, or simply react to a nice photo. Nothing to search for, nothing to learn: it's as natural as commenting on a social media post.
And since parents already receive push notifications for every new post, the conversation can flow naturally, without friction.
Daycares that maintain regular, personalized communication with families build trust that shows — in parent satisfaction, in loyalty, and in how they talk about your service to others. Comments give your team one more tool to nurture that relationship, day after day, post after post.
A thank-you left under a photo. A question answered in a few words. A worry resolved before the parent even gets home. These small moments matter — and MyDaycare Plus now gives you the space to make them happen.
